Our Story & What We Do – Meet Trekvana and Our Conversions

Trekvana began with a simple idea - campervans should feel easy to live in, built for real Irish travel, and designed around how people actually use them.
We don’t believe in gimmicks or overcomplicated layouts. What we care about is comfort, practicality, and thoughtful design that makes every trip feel relaxed, whether it’s a weekend away or a longer adventure.
How Trekvana Started
Our story started long before Trekvana became a business. Years of travelling, maintaining, and building campervans taught us what works and what doesn’t. Over time, that hands-on experience shaped how we approach every conversion today.
We realised that many campers looked good on paper but fell short in everyday use. Storage wasn’t practical. Layouts felt cramped. Systems were complicated when they didn’t need to be.
Trekvana was created to do things differently.
What We Focus On
Every Trekvana campervan is built with the same priorities in mind:
Comfortable, usable living space
Practical layouts that work day and night
Simple, reliable systems
Designs suited to Irish weather and year-round travel
We focus on how a van feels to live in, not just how it looks in photos.
Our Signature Layouts
We are best known for our U-Lounge layouts. They create a generous, social seating area during the day and convert into a comfortable bed at night. It’s a layout that suits couples, families, and anyone who values space to relax.
We also design specialist layouts like the Trailblazer, created for people who travel with bikes, surfboards, or bulky outdoor gear. These conversions are built to support active lifestyles without compromising comfort.
Built by Hand in Galway
All of our campervans are hand-built in Galway. We take our time with each conversion, focusing on detail, durability, and finish.
From insulation and electrics to furniture and soft furnishings, everything is considered as part of the whole. The result is a campervan that feels calm, solid, and easy to live with.
A Female-Led Approach to Campervan Design
Did you know Trekvana is a female-led company? That shapes far more than just how our campers look – it influences how they work in real life.
We’re often asked about things that don’t always get talked about openly – toilets and privacy, changing space, mobility concerns, storage that actually makes sense, and how comfortable a camper feels if you’re travelling solo or with family. We understand those questions, because they matter.
From discreet toilet solutions and easy access layouts to thoughtful seating heights, lighting, and practical storage, we design campers with real conversations in mind. It’s about comfort, confidence, and feeling at ease in your space – whether that’s managing joint stiffness or aches and pains or a specific medical condition, needing somewhere private to change, or simply wanting things to be intuitive and stress-free.
We believe campervans should feel welcoming, practical, and supportive for everyone, and we’re always happy to talk things through honestly and openly.
More Than Just Campervans for Sale
Alongside building and selling complete campervans, we also carry out:
Full campervan conversions
Layout changes and upgrades
Electrical and system upgrades
Practical improvements to existing vans
Glass and window fitting service
Whether you’re starting from an empty van or improving one you already own, we approach every project with the same care.
Designed for Real Life and Real Travel
We design campers for how people actually travel in Ireland. That means wet boots, windy days, cold nights, and spontaneous plans.
Our vans are built to handle it all quietly in the background, so you can focus on the experience rather than the setup.
A Note From Us
