Inside a Real VW T4 Camper Setup with Trekvana Furniture
The best moment in any campervan conversion is when it stops looking like a van full of materials and starts looking like somewhere you could actually spend the weekend.
This customer recently fitted Trekvana furniture inside their short-wheelbase Volkswagen T4, creating a simple, practical camper with space to sit, sleep, store their belongings and enjoy the van during the day.
A comfortable bed without losing the living space
The sliding bed runs neatly along one side of the van. When closed, it provides comfortable daytime seating while leaving an open walkway through the camper.
At night, the slatted sections pull out to create a generous sleeping platform. The slats also allow air to circulate beneath the mattress, while the built-in compartments provide useful storage within the bed itself.
It is a straightforward system that gives the customer a proper bed without permanently filling the interior.
Storage that works with the space
On the opposite side of the T4, the customer fitted the low wheel-arch cabinet.
Its lower profile provides practical storage while keeping the interior feeling open. The lift-up table creates a useful surface for drinks, meals or a laptop, then folds away when the space is needed for something else.
Together, the bed and cabinet make good use of both sides of the van without making the centre feel cramped.
The customer made it their own

We supply the furniture fully assembled, but the customer decides how it fits into their conversion. Their flooring, wall finish, cushions and personal touches turn the individual pieces into a camper that belongs to them.
The finished T4 feels simple and uncluttered, with everything needed for comfortable trips and nothing unnecessary taking over the space.

Not every self-builder wants to construct beds and cabinets from sheets of plywood. Others begin with plenty of enthusiasm but reach the furniture stage and realise they do not have the tools, space or time to finish it themselves.

Each unit is handmade in East Galway from lightweight 15mm poplar plywood and supplied fully assembled. Customers can choose the individual pieces that suit their plans, collect them from our Galway workshop and secure them inside their camper using an appropriate method for their vehicle.

A van does not need a complicated interior to become somewhere worth travelling in.
